Glue Mesh to Jello

Here is a new little ICE video/how-to I posted on Vimeo. Lagao is all about point cloud simulation, and while it can use a mesh to mold the emitted points, it does not directly deform the mesh.

So I made this little compound which binds back the mesh to the point cloud simulation. Since it is only taking the closest point, it is a bit crude and requires a rather high density on the point cloud simulation. I’m thinking it can be improved by taking more than one point, and why not, apply a barycentric coordinate on those.

Anyway, you can see it here:

I’ve also attached the compound: GlueToPointCloud.compound

Hi, i was wondering if there’s a way to glue a mesh to another mesh using the same formula ?

For example, I have a liquid mesh I want to stick to a character skin to deform the same way.

I need a very fast answer :S I don’t know if you will be able to help me in time.
    Thanks in advance.

Seems it would but there is the trick it is using ID which are only initialized on point clouds. I did a quick modification of the compounds to use vertex index, seems to work. One of them (the most precise) requires an irregular shape on the source mesh to work properly.

Hope it helps and comes in time 🙂
